preventing system downtime

Importance of Having a Disaster Recovery Program in Place

Disasters such as fires, earthquakes, floods, or malicious attacks can put your business at risk. These types of attacks damage systems and files, making it impossible to complete daily activities.

Downtime is significant, as employees must sit and wait for systems to come back. Add that to the costs involved with locating the cause of the attack and recovering your files and you’ll understand the value of a comprehensive disaster recovery plan.

The right disaster recovery plan provides peace of mind for businesses. You’ll always know your data is protected and accessible, even in the event of a disaster.

Data Resolution offers two disaster recovery plans, each with its own benefits and features. Below, we explain the difference between our Warm Disaster Recovery Plan and our Cold Disaster Recovery Plan.

Cold Disaster Recovery Plan

Data Resolution’s Cold Disaster Recovery Plan provides an additional layer of protection for data. This service includes:

  • Server images sent nightly to remote storage in Dallas, Texas
  • Entire C Drive recovery within 72 hours
  • M:/ Drive recovery within 72 hours
  • Full back- up report sent daily

Warm Disaster Recovery Plan

Data Resolution’s Warm Disaster Recovery Plan provides all of the same features as our Cold Disaster Recovery Plan with faster recovery times and recovery to a second datacenter. This is a different physical location from where your main files are stored. Rather than just having copies of your files on two separate physical hardware devices, our service allows you to have them stored in two separate physical locations. Even if your home or office burns down and everything is destroyed, you will always have a copy of your important files.

Our Warm Disaster Recovery Service includes:

  • Server images sent nightly to remote storage in Dallas, TX and Las Vegas, NV
  • Entire C Drive recovery within 24-48 hours
  • M:/ Drive recovery within 24-48 hours
  • Full back-up report sent daily

Data Resolution has several years of experience working with clients across a wide range of industries. We understand the need for comprehensive data protection. Please contact us for more information about our disaster recovery services.

IT System Maintenance – Why Outsourcing Makes Sense

Organizations today face unique challenges when it comes to managing their IT environment. These organizations are often responsible for a large number of IT systems and infrastructure. Without proper maintenance, systems can easily go down, causing costly downtime and reducing earning potential. It’s crucial that organizations do all they can to keep IT systems running at peak efficiency.

In-House VS Outsourcing

Until a few years ago, it was common for businesses to have their own IT department. Unfortunately, many organizations have begun cutting their IT department in an effort to save money. While doing so avoids the high costs involved with finding, hiring, training, and maintaining a team of skilled individuals, without proper IT maintenance, organizations stand to lose a significant amount of money.

In an effort to keep systems operating, organizations often put the responsibility of maintenance on their staff. However, this requires employees to stop what they’re working on to perform system maintenance and run updates. As businesses grow, employees typically have multiple responsibilities. On a busy day, IT system maintenance can quickly get put off or forgotten. This can lead to major issues when systems go down.

Outsourcing to a qualified managed service provider provides organizations with access to the knowledge and experience of skilled IT professionals, without the high cost involved with hiring an in-house IT department. In addition to reduced costs, outsourcing ensures that systems remain healthy. This is crucial to the success of every organization today.

Services may vary based on the provider you choose. It’s important to select a company that is able to provide comprehensive IT maintenance and repair. A quality provider will perform all necessary patches, upgrades, and system maintenance on all IT systems including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

Is Your Company Vulnerable to Cyber Attacks?

Is Your Company Vulnerable to Cyber Attacks?

Many companies believe they are doing all they can to protect their IT systems from cyber attacks. However, hackers and viruses still find a way in. When this occurs, it can wreak havoc on an organization, causing system downtime and increasing the chance of information breaches. In addition to the costs associated with paying staff when they are unable to work, affected organizations risk costly lawsuits and loss of reputation.

Poor Patch Management Increases the Risk of Cyber Attacks

There are few things that make a company more vulnerable to cyber attacks than poor patch management.  Numerous studies have shown that companies can prevent a large portion of cybercrime by taking a more proactive approach to patch management. However, this can be difficult in large organizations with multiple systems.

Patches should be applied within one week of their release. When implemented properly and in the right timeframe, patches can stop most hackers dead in their tracks.

Most systems today will automatically apply patches with permission from the user. Unfortunately, many users simply ignore system alerts regarding the availability of new patches. This happens for a number of reasons. Sometimes, users worry that alerts are not legitimate. Other times, it’s because users believe the patch will take too long to apply.

Whatever the reason, failing to apply patches leaves the entire organization vulnerable to cyber attacks.

We Handle IT System Maintenance So You Can Focus On What Really Matters

It can be next to impossible for management to monitor every employee to ensure that patches are being applied as needed. This is especially true in large organizations with multiple employees.

Data Resolution can help ensure that patches are applied and systems remain healthy and operating at peak efficiency. This helps prevent the chance of cyber attacks and takes the responsibility off staff.

Our managed services include monitoring and maintenance of all IT systems including desktops, laptops and mobile devices. Our team has years of IT experience and understands how to protect your organization from a wide range of cyber threats.

Increasing Productivity in the Workplace

Increasing Productivity in the Workplace

Slow computers, poor Internet connection, and outdated software can all affect daily operations. In today’s increasingly digital world, improper maintenance of IT systems is simply not an option. Unfortunately, many companies do not have the time or resources to properly monitor and maintain these important systems. In fact, many companies today are choosing to cut their IT department altogether. This can lead to disaster.

Preventing System Downtime

Employees need a way to communicate with clients and potential clients. A lot of this communication happens online. When IT systems go down, employees are forced sit around, unable to complete even the simplest tasks.
